SIX NATIONS England v Italy

Pablo Canavosio
Canavosio should be fit enough to play some part in this year's Six Nations

Injured scrum-half Pablo Canavosio was one of six players cut from Italy's squad ahead of their Six Nations opener against England on Saturday.

Canavosio is the third scrum-half to be ruled out, raising the prospect that flanker Mauro Bergamasco could fill in.

Coach Nick Mallett had already talked about playing the flanker at number nine before Canavoiso's withdrawal.

Simone Favaro, Giulio Rubini, Gilberto Pavan, Roberto Quartaroli and Antonio Pavanello are the other players cut.
