Harlequins wing David Strettle has been added to the England squad as cover for Wasps' Paul Sackey ahead of Sunday's Six Nations match against France.

Sackey is making progress on an ankle injury suffered against Ireland and will be assessed by the medical team.

Newcastle tight-head prop David Wilson has also been called up as cover, while Leicester lock Louis Deacon is promoted to the full Senior Elite Player Squad.

Deacon replaces Wasps' Tom Palmer, who is sidelined with a shoulder injury.

Leicester fly-half Toby Flood, meanwhile, resumed training on Monday and is expected to retain his place at number 10 when England manager Martin Johnson names his side to face France on Wednesday.

Johnson's side will be desperate to notch a victory on Sunday having lost their last two Six Nations clash against Wales and Ireland - making their opening-day win over Italy their only win of the tournament so far this season.
