'No Wales hangover' for Ospreys

Wales and Ospreys captain Ryan Jones wants get back to winning ways

Captain Ryan Jones says the Ospreys can help erase Wales' Six Nations heartache by beating Gloucester on Saturday and booking a place in the EDF Cup final.

Jones, who led Wales in last weekend's 17-15 defeat by Ireland, believes successive finals are in their grasp.

"This very match allows us to dust the boots off and get them back on and focus on the job in hand," he said.

"It gives us something to get rid of the hangover of the weekend and it's a great competition to play in."

Ospreys lifted the Cup after last year's 23-6 win over Leicester Tigers in the final at Twickenham.

They reached this year's last four by coming through their group with wins over Harlequins and Worcester Warriors.

Gloucester beat Wasps, Newport Gwent Dragons and Newcastle in their group to reach the semi-final.

And Jones has played down suggestions that the EDF Cup is not as important as other tournaments like the Heineken Cup.

"Both teams are littered with some fantastic individuals and it's going to be a very close match out there," he said.

"All competitions are different in their own right.

"We don't play the English teams very often and there's always been that great rivalry.

"There have been some great encounters against Gloucester over the years, and in the EDF, we've had some great games with Leicester too.

"These are the games you look forward to as individuals, they've always been great spectacles themselves and we are hoping for a good weekend."
