Cristiano Ronaldo has moved to quash renewed speculation that he is poised to leave Manchester United for Spanish giants Real Madrid in the summer.

Recent reports suggested Real were set to make a £75m bid for the winger.

"We always have this question. I am happy here. I think it is the right club," said Ronaldo ahead of United's Champions League tie against Porto.

Last year, boss Sir Alex Ferguson said he would not sell Madrid "a virus", such was his anger over the rumours.

And Ferguson dismissed the latest reports as "pathetic".

In December, Real director Pedro Trapote was quoted as saying a deal for a summer transfer had been struck.

However, president at the time, Ramon Calderon insisted Real's interest in Ronaldo was over.

The midfielder said in October that he made the right decision to reject the Spanish side and that he expected to stay at United beyond this season.

In the past it had been suggested the Portuguese may prefer to play in Spain because of the way he is targeted by opponents in England, but the 23-year-old said he did not feel he was being treated differently to any other point in his six years in England.

"It has always been like that," he said.

"It is not only this season that defenders have kicked me to try and stop me. It is just normal."

Ronaldo scored twice against Aston Villa on Sunday, taking his total for the season to 20, as United returned to the top of the Premier League.

"We are the best team in England," Ronaldo said.

"We have shown that by being top of the table. That speaks for itself. We respect all our opponents but if we carry on winning, we will win the title again.

"We have a chance to win everything this season.

"First we have to beat FC Porto. After that, we must carry on."
