Svetlana Kuznetsova upset second seed Elena Dementieva with surprising ease in the semi-finals of the Stuttgart Grand Prix on Saturday.
The world number nine eased past her fellow Russian 6-4 6-2 in one hour and seven minutes.
Kuznetsova is trying to win her first tournament since New Haven in 2007.
World number one Dinara Safina will play Italy's Flavia Pennetta in Saturday's second semi-final at the WTA's first indoor clay tournament.
