Stoke keeper Steve Simonsen has said he wants to stay with City, despite losing his place to Thomas Sorensen.
The former Everton man made just three Premier League starts all season.
"Thomas has had a brilliant season and has deserved his place on the showings he's given," the 30-year-old told BBC Radio Stoke.
"I would like to have played a bigger part. But I adore the football club and I'm more than happy to remain at the club and fight for a place."
Simonsen added: "I've got a year left on my contract and we'll see what happens next season. Whether the manager wants me to stay or not, I don't know, we'll discuss that in due course.
"But there's no reason for me to want to leave."
Simonsen signed from Everton in 2004 and quickly established himself as the club's number one goalkeeper.
He went through a spell of almost three seasons without missing a league game, but then lost his place to on-loan Carlo Nash for the final stages of the Potters' promotion-winning campaign.
Simonsen added: "I'd played something like 150 consecutive games, so whoever was sat on the bench behind me at those times, whether it be Russell Hoult or Ed de Goey, they were going through the same thing that I've gone through this season, and it is very difficult.
"But in terms of being motivated, there's no problem with that. Me and Thomas are both preparing for the game, and no matter who is playing, we'll prepare in the same way."
Denmark international goalkeeper Sorensen kept 12 clean sheets as the Potters finished 12th in their debut Premier League season.
