Lampard impressed with Ancelotti

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard hopes the club have found "another great manager" in Carlo Ancelotti.

Lampard, who is in Kazakhstan with England ahead of Saturday's World Cup qualifier, was a fan of the ex-AC Milan boss before Monday's Blues appointment.

"Everyone who has worked with him has nothing but the highest praise for him as a man and a manager," said Lampard.

"I worked with Guus Hiddink who is a great man and a great manager and hopefully we have got another one."

Lampard, 30, added: "I'm very impressed by the bond and the way he seems to work with the players."

Ancelotti officially takes over as Hiddink's successor at Stamford Bridge on 1 July.

The 49-year-old Italian guided Milan to Champions League victories in 2003 and 2007 and also won the trophy twice as a player, a feat that Lampard acknowledged.

"You can't fail to be impressed by a man who managed AC Milan to titles and won the Champions League twice," stated Lampard.

"I have always had a good relationship with my managers and I would like to think I will have a good relationship with him as well."

Ancelotti will become Chelsea's fifth manager in less than two years following Claudio Ranieri, Jose Mourinho, Avram Grant, Luiz Filipe Scolari and Guus Hiddink.

And Lampard conceded that playing under different coaches is "par for the course at most clubs, with the exception of Manchester United and Arsenal".

"I feel very honoured to have played under so many top managers," he added.

"I have had a great relationship with all of them and whether they have been successful or not quite so, I have always taken plus points from all of them.

"Hopefully if I carry on playing and maybe go into management one day I can certainly say I will take a little bit of every manager I have had with me - and hopefully I will be better for the experience."
