bodiroga on 606: "Boks to win again. Pity it's taken the Lions coaches so long to fathom why they lost last week. SA played no rugby but are the best team in the world because they have a forward pack that can bully and intimidate. Paul O'Connell is no Martin Johnson and the Lions will lose this series because they failed to grasp that the only way to compete with the Boks is to meet them head on up front."

1242: I have to be honest with you, we in the rugby team at Corporation Towers are not feeling very confident about the Lions today. Yes I know the sun is out but, to be frank, the odds are stacked against us.

We are 1-0 down (having only won one series in the modern era having lost the first Test), playing against the world champions, in their back yard, needing to win today to stay in the series. Oh yeah, and said game is at altitude with the Lions having no chance to acclimatise.

I need you to lift me out of my pessimism. You can also give me your predictions, views on team selection, where you are watching the game and general banter on 606, via the link below, or by texting me on 81111.

Dodie_James on 606: "I hope this time the Lions realise their most potent weapon is the centre partnership, and use it. Whenever they did get the ball in their hands, Brian O'Driscoll and Jamie Roberts always looked threatening. But time and time again the Lions kept it in the hands of the forwards, used the blindside far too often, and came up against a brick wall."

1237: Afternoon all. Is there any other way to open up a day such as this than with the words of the legendary Jim Telfer? Jeepers, listening to that again earlier this morning I feel as if I could take on Bakkies Botha. Then again, thinking about it, maybe not.

So here we are, the day of destiny for the Lions. Win, and we have the prospect of a mouthwatering decider in Johannesburg next week; lose, and the Lions will suffer their third straight series defeat. It's that simple.

How's the nerves? Not long now…

1230: "Very few ever get a chance in rugby terms to go for the top of Everest. You have the chance to do it. Being picked is the easy bit. To win for the Lions in a Test match is the ultimate but you will not do it unless you put your bodies on the line. You have to find your own drive, your own ambition, your own inner strength, because the moment's arriving - the greatest game of your lives."
Excerpts from Lions coach Jim Telfer's speech to his forwards in 1997
