Everton set to re-sign Jo on loan

Jo celebrates after scoring for Everton
Jo had a successful loan spell at Everton last season

Everton are closing in on a deal to take Manchester City striker Jo back to Goodison Park on loan next season.

Jo, 22, scored five goals in 12 games after joining Everton on loan in January after failing to make an impact at Eastlands under manager Mark Hughes.

City paid CSKA Moscow £18m for Jo in July 2008 but Everton boss David Moyes admitted they could not afford a permanent deal for the Brazilian.

However, a loan move is now imminent after fresh talks between the clubs.

It is understood Jo has joined up with Everton at their pre-season training base in Scotland while he waits for the formalities to be completed.

The deal will have no bearing on City's prolonged interest in Everton's Joleon Lescott, with Moyes adamant the England defender will not be sold.
