Celtic will assess the fitness of Scott Brown in Russia ahead of Wednesday's Champions League qualifying return leg against Dinamo Moscow.
The midfielder missed the 1-0 home defeat as he recovers from ankle surgery but played for an hour in the friendly with Sunderland on Saturday.
"It's been a hard graft for Scott over the summer," said coach Peter Grant.
"He looked very good on Saturday but it's important how he reacts because he's not had much football."
Grant knows it will be difficult for Celtic to overturn a one-goal deficit at the Khimki Stadium but takes heart from the first leg showing in Glasgow.
"We battled away well and created chances, so hopefully we can take those chances this time," he added.
"Dinamo are very good on the break, they have quick players in the wide areas and they won't change much. They may well be more defensive; try and suck us in and hit on the counter.
"We know we have to win the game and that's all we're concerned with."
Following Saturday's 2-1 loss to Sunderland at Celtic Park manager Tony Mowbray was cagey about the prospect of throwing Scotland star Brown straight into his starting line-up on Wednesday.
"I know Scott had a great season last year," said Mowbray.
"But I don't feel a great urgency to think that our game on Wednesday is down to whether Scott is fit or not.
"The big positive was that we got 60 minutes from Scott Brown and I'm pretty sure, as the season progresses, he will have a big part to play.
"He is a fantastic footballer, a wonderful personality, but we have shown over the last month or so that we are more than capable when we have our strongest team on the field.
"I don't see that changing whether Scott is on the field or not."
Mowbray knows Brown well, having managed the player during his time at Hibernian, but also has the option of bolstering his midfield with Spaniard Marc Crosas, who scored in the defeat to Sunderland.
Massimo Donati and Landry N'Guemo formed the central midfield partnership against Dinamo in Glasgow, with Aiden McGeady and Shaun Maloney filling the wide roles in support of strikers Scott McDonald and Marc-Antoine Fortune.
