Birmingham striker Garry O'Connor has been called up for Scotland's vital World Cup qualifying double-header with Macedonia and the Netherlands.
The former Hibernian forward is a replacement for Kilmarnock's Kevin Kyle, who has withdrawn from George Burley's squad with a knee injury.
The 26-year-old won the last of his 15 caps as a substitute against Ukraine at Hampden in October 2007.
O'Connor, yet to score this season, has netted four times for his country.
Burley has recalled Rangers skipper David Weir for the must-win matches at Hampden and has said the 39-year-old defender will start against Macedonia on Saturday.
Goalkeeper Craig Gordon is also assured of a place, having recently returned from injury at Sunderland.
Defenders Stephen McManus, Steven Caldwell and Christophe Berra were named in Burley's squad despite carrying injuries, and the trio missed out for their clubs at the weekend.
Bristol City forward David Clarkson may also be a doubt, having missed his club's last two outings through injury.
Kyle, who has netted 10 goals in 15 games for his club, had been recalled after a five-year absence from the international scene but needs surgery on a damaged knee.
The Netherlands, who have secured a place at next year's World Cup finals, will be without injured midfielder Ibrahim Afellay on 9 September, while defender Andre Ooijer is a serious doubt.
