Turkey forward Tuncay has completed his £5m move to Stoke City.

The 27-year-old, who is captain of his country, follows Robert Huth, 25, in making the move from Teesside after the German defender joined on Thursday.

"Tuncay is an exciting player with his pace and skill who will certainly get the crowd going," said boss Tony Pulis.

He has scored 15 goals in 58 games for Turkey and was Boro's top scorer last season with eight league goals as they were relegated from the Premier League.

Pulis added: "Tuncay is also a player of international calibre and and a leader of his national team."

The signing of Tuncay completes a successful couple of days for Stoke after the arrival of imposing centre-back Huth on Thursday.

Chief executive Tony Scholes believes the acquisition of the duo sets them up well for another season in the Premier League.

"We are delighted to bring a player of Tuncay's quality to the club because he has attracted attention from a number of big clubs, as indeed had Huth," said Scholes.

"Therefore this is a powerful statement of our intentions as we look to move the club forward."

Stoke are awaiting Premier League and Football Association confirmation that they can both play in Saturday's home match against Sunderland.
