1945: Up and away in tonight's seven Champions League games, including the Jock Wallace derby at Ibrox. The Rangers fans have unfurled a giant flag with a portrait of Wallace, proclaiming "We've got the battle fever on". Wallace was the Rangers manager who famously went on to coach Sevilla.
1944: Crikey Paul in Kent via text, there are an awful lot of people in exactly the same boat as you. Jose might be getting a few invoices in the post - though I did tell you the Champions League isn't that predictable.
1941: Liverpool will once again be looking to captain Steven Gerrard and striker Fernando Torres for inspiration tonight, no doubt buoyed by their
weekend destruction of Hull.
Amazingly, in the 77 games they have played together for Liverpool, they have notched 86 goals between them - including 15 in 15 in the Champions League.
From Murtini on 606:
"Walcott played in an Arsenal XI earlier today against an Olympiakos XI. Probably explains why he isn't playing tonight."
1935: Rangers meet Manolo Jimenez's Sevilla, fresh from their 4-0 demolition of Athletic Bilbao on Saturday - that after giving striker Luis Fabiano the weekend off. How Rangers could do with some of those goals,
having scored a paltry three in their last five games.
"If we have any thoughts of progressing, we must win our home games," says Gers boss Walter Smith.
1932: In the beautiful city of Florence today, Liverpool take their stunning recent form into the Stadio Artemio Franchi as they meet Fiorentina. La Viola coach Cesare Prandelli
was a part of the Juventus squad that played the Reds in the 1985 European Cup final, the night of the Heysel stadium disaster which killed 39 people.
"I don't retain any association between Liverpool and this dramatic experience," said Prandelli. "I try to forget but you can never forget."
1929: So, onwards and upwards. Let's start with Arsenal, who welcome Brazilian legend Zico's team to the Emirates this evening. In his Olympiakos side is the man who
scored the first competitive goal at the Emirates when Aston Villa drew 1-1 at Arsenal on 19 August, 2006: Olof Mellberg.
From LFCfan128 on 606:
"Fiorentina's form at home is perfect so far, with three clean sheets, but Liverpool will score tonight and win!"
From Paul in Kent, via text on 81111: "I put on an accumulator and was looking forward to collecting my winnings tomorrow, but of course my one guaranteed result (Inter to win) doesn't happen and kind of ruins the whole night of football!"
1921: Full-time Rubin Kazan 1-1 Inter Milan
1920: Here's Euro Cheesy: "Andres Iniesta makes his first start for Barcelona since the Champions League final. He replaces Thierry Henry on the left of Barca's attacking trio, alongside Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Andriy Shevchenko starts for Dynamo Kiev on his 33rd birthday. Former Arsenal keeper Jens Lehmann starts for Stuttgart at Unirea Urziceni. The 39-year-old will become the sixth oldest player to appear in the Champions League. He returned to the starting line-up for Saturday's win over Eintracht Frankfurt after being dropped for one game for attending Munich's Oktoberfest without permission.
1917: I'll be flashing goals from the Arsenal, Liverpool and Rangers games, Euro Cheesy will bring you all the chat from the other European ties tonight and what's more, Football League Macca will be all over events in the Championship, League One and League Two. Tonight = brilliant.
1915: Steven Naismith is a surprise choice as lone striker for Rangers. Kenny Miller has been nursing an injury and is on the bench, which means there is no place again for last season's top scorer, Kris Boyd. Pedro Mendes returns from his domestic suspension to play in a midfield where Lee McCulloch will play a holding role in a 4-1-4-1 formation. Sasa Papac returns from injury to take his normal place at left-back, while Steven Davis comes back into midfield after recovering from injury.
1912: Rangers v Sevilla line-ups:
Rangers: McGregor, Whittaker, Bougherra, Weir, Papac, Davis, McCulloch, Mendes, Rothen, Thomson, Naismith.
Subs: Alexander, Smith, Boyd, Miller, Fleck, Little, Novo.
Sevilla: Palop, Squillaci, Fernando Navarro, Escude, Lolo, Adriano Correia, Jesus Navas, Zokora, Konko, Luis Fabiano, Kanoute.
Subs: Javi Varas, Dragutinovic, Sergio Sanchez, Renato, Diego Capel, Romaric, Negredo.

1908: Arsenal make two changes from the side that beat Fulham on Saturday. Emmanuel Eboue replaces Bacary Sagna and Tomas Rosicky comes in for Nicklas Bendtner, who misses out after being hurt in a minor car crash. Olympiakos are without attacking midfielder Luciano Galletti and former Blackburn striker Matt Derbyshire, who are both injured.
1906: There has been an early kick-off, in the shape of Russian champions Rubin Kazan taking on their Italian counterparts Inter Milan. "There are no easy games in the Champions League," said Inter boss Jose Mourinho. He's not wrong either, as Inter - reduced to 10 men after the sending off of Mario Balotelli - are currently hanging on at 1-1 with about 15 minutes left.
1902: Arsenal v Olympiakos line-ups:
Arsenal: Mannone, Eboue, Gallas, Vermaelen, Clichy, Song Billong, Rosicky, Fabregas, Diaby, Arshavin, van Persie.

1851: You soon will be. Team news and chat on the way, but don't forget to embed yourselves in tonight's proceedings via the usual methods of 81111 texts and
via the magical thread of 606.
I'm here all night.
1848: OK, soapbox away, time to look forward to another cracking night of European action. Arsenal host Greek outfit Olympiakos, Liverpool face a tricky test at Italians Fiorentina and Rangers entertain bang in-form Spanish side Sevilla. Personally, I'm mad for it. You lot with me?
1845: You know, I'm growing increasingly weary of people (not you lot, obviously) slagging off the Champions League group stages. "So boring," they say. "So predictable," they moan. "The big clubs always go through," they whinge. It's usually the same top four in the Premier League every season too, but most people seem pretty happy to watch that week-in, week-out. I implore you - can we please not just enjoy it?
