Nadal recovers for Beijing return

Nadal beat Chile's Fernando Gonzalez to win Olympic gold last year

World number two Rafael Nadal returns to action at next week's China Open after recovering from a stomach injury.

The Spaniard pulled out of this week's Thailand Open with the complaint, but is fit enough to compete in Beijing.

The China Open will be the first played at the Olympic Green Tennis Centre where Nadal won the men's singles gold medal at last year's Games.

The 23-year-old will then play at the Shanghai Masters 1000, the Masters in London and the Davis Cup final.

Nadal was hampered by the injury at the US Open, where he reached the semi-finals, and withdrew from the Spanish squad that beat Israel to reach the Davis Cup final.

World number one Roger Federer had already pulled out of the Shanghai Masters, but he has qualified to play at the Masters in London - the ATP World Tour Finals - at the end of November alongside Nadal, Britian's Andy Murray, US Open winner Juan Martin del Potro and Novak Djokovic.
