Mr Burress wants to resume his career after his prison term, his lawyer said

Former New York Giants star Plaxico Burress has been jailed for two years for gun possession, after shooting himself at a nightclub last year.
Burress, 32, pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon in August.
Before the incident took place, Burress had been a rising NFL talent, having caught the Giants' winning touchdown at the 2008 Superbowl.
But he was suspended after his guilty plea and will be banned from the game until he has served his sentence.
Burress pleaded guilty to a single charge of gun possession to avoid two counts of criminal possession and one count of reckless endangerment.
Had he been convicted of the more serious charges, he could have faced a prison term of three and a half to 15 years.
Burress intends to resume his professional football career after he completes his sentence, his lawyer has indicated.
The charges stem from an incident at a New York nightclub in November 2008, when Burress accidentally shot himself in the thigh with a handgun for which he did not have a license.
