More heavy rain is forecast in New York on Friday
|
Rain has caused havoc at the US Open for the second day running, raising the prospect of a Monday men's final.
The men's semi-finals are scheduled to take place on Saturday but Rafael Nadal and Fernando Gonzalez have yet to finish their quarter-final.
The women's final is also due to be played on Saturday, but neither of the semi-finals has started.
If play is possible, all three matches will start at the same time on Ashe, Armstrong and Grandstand.
Saturday's weather forecast for New York is not encouraging either, with more rain predicted.
World number three Nadal was leading 11th seed Gonzalez 7-6 (7-4) 6-6 (3-2) when rain stopped play on Thursday.
Similar conditions saw the 2008 men's final between Roger Federer and Andy Murray pushed to a Monday finish, making it the first US Open since 1987 to enter a third week.
