Top Irish jockey Paul Carberry has been suspended after failing a breath test at Naas racecourse on Saturday.

Carberry, 35, who won the 1999 Grand National on Bobbyjo, was tested before racing at the Kildare track, the Irish Turf Club said.

Stewards said that doping control officer Al Guy had reported Carberry had failed an alcohol breath test.

He was given a one-day ban and his case sent on to the club's referrals committee for further investigation.

Carberry was forced to miss three intended mounts at Naas.
