Northern Ireland have abandoned plans to travel to Bulgaria for a friendly on Saturday, 14 November.

Irish FA officials had been in negotiations about a match in Sofia but terms have not been agreed.

Instead, it is likely Northern Ireland will use the international date, when World Cup play-offs are taking place, to play Serbia at home or Croatia away.

Northern Ireland finished their recent qualifying campaign in fourth place in Group Three.

Nigel Worthington's men ended up seven points behind group winners Slovakia and five behind Slovenia who made the play-offs.
