Fresh uncertainty about Portsmouth's future has been sparked by reports that owner Sulaiman Al Fahim is in hospital.

The news comes as Pompey players were waiting to be paid after what the club called a "delay in the transfer of funds" following his takeover.

The Arabian Business website claimed on Friday that the 32-year-old, who took charge at Fratton Park last month, is undergoing tests in a Dubai hospital.

Sources at Pompey suggested Al Fahim is having surgery to remove kidney stones.

There have been constant doubts about the financial stability of the club since his takeover.
