White is one of England's most experienced forwards
|
England manager Martin Johnson's front row crisis deepened on Saturday as Leicester prop Julian White was ruled out of England's autumn internationals.
The 36-year-old tight-head tore a hamstring against London Irish.
"Julian has torn his right hamstring and will not be available for international duty," said Leicester director of rugby Richard Cockerill.
Props Phil Vickery and Andrew Sheridan and hooker Lee Mears were ruled out of the November Tests last weekend.
Tight-head prop Vickery, who requires neck surgery, is out for three months, while loose-head prop Sheridan faces a race to be fit for England's 2010 Six Nations campaign due to a shoulder injury.
And Bath hooker Mears faces up to eight weeks on the sidelines with a knee injury.

606: DEBATE

Johnson has just two fit props in Tim Payne and David Wilson in his senior elite squad, while England Saxons props Matt Mullan and Dan Cole are also injured.
That could mean promotion from the second-string Saxons for players like Gloucester loose-head Nick Wood, Saracens prospect Tom Mercey and London Irish loose-head Alex Corbisiero, who has been touted as the "best young prop in England".
Bath forwards Duncan Bell and David Flatman could also come into Johnson's thinking, but England's autumn games are likely to come too early for Leicester forward Harry Ellis.
"Harry Ellis is having rehab on his knee and we expect him back between seven and 14 days," said Cockerill. "But I doubt very much if he'll be involved with England's early autumn games either."
But it is not only in the front row that Johnson, who names his revised elite squad on Monday, faces injury problems ahead of the three internationals against Australia, Argentina and New Zealand.
London Irish full-back Delon Armitage and Brive inside centre Riki Flutey will miss all three matches while Leicester fly-halves Toby Flood (ruptured Achilles) and Sam Vesty (hamstring) are only expected to return to action for the Tigers in November.
Vickery's Wasps team-mates Danny Cipriani (tibia hairline fracture) and Tom Rees (shoulder) are also unavailable because of injuries, while Saxons and Harlequins centre Jordan Turner-Hall, who was a possible contender to replace Flutey, is also out.
Wasps second row Simon Shaw is currently recuperating from a metatarsal injury and is a doubt for the first match against Australia on 7 November.
