Like any other sports team, the Georgia Bulldogs uniforms have evolved through the years. What the team wore is significant to loyal fans or remembering a specific game. Here the different color combination of Georgia Bulldogs uniform.
Silver, red, silver
One of the original uniform patterns of the Georgia Bulldogs. The silver britches were coach Wally Butts' idea. The pants made a great combination with the noticeable red jerseys. They wore silver helmets, red jerseys and silver britches. Vince Dooley redesigned the uniforms and added a black "G" logo on the helmets in the 1964 season. It was then in 1967, in coordination with the Green Bay Packers, the oval "G" eventually replaced the old block "G" as the official symbol
Red, white, red
The bulldogs wore red pants during the early 1980s with red helmets and white jerseys. This combination was not repeated since then.
Red, white, black
In the 1997 season bowl game, the Georgia bulldogs wore black pants for the first time in their history along with red helmets and white jerseys, in which they also won.
Red, red, black
In a 1998 game, the bulldogs wore black pants for the second time in which they lost. In this era, the bulldogs helmets has a black stripe on their helmets.
Red, red, silver
The bulldogs wore red helmets, red jerseys and silver pants in some 2005 games. However, the pants' color we're not as striking as the trademark "Silver Britches". Instead of a bright silver, they hue was more of a light grey.
Red, black, silver
As a surprise from coach Mark Richt, the Georgia bulldogs wore red helmets, black jerseys and silver pants on August 2007. That was the time they were against the Auburn Tigers. This marked the 1st time in bulldogs history that they wore black jerseys. The bulldogs won the game at 45-20. They wore black uniforms again in their game with the Alabama Crimson tides in September 2008. The bulldogs though, eventually lost to the Crimson Tides at 41-30. The black uniforms are only worn for big games from then on.
Black, white, black
In 2009, the Georgia bulldogs wore black helmets for the first time.
Whether these uniforms contribute to the winnings or loss to their games, it's still up to the fans and the team to think so.
