Crusaders sign ex-Hull hooker

New Crusaders head coach Brian Noble has made former Hull hooker Tommy Lee his first signing.

The 21-year-old, who can play at half-back, hooker or loose forward, was linked with Salford City Reds.

But he has signed a 12-month deal with the Welsh club where former Hull assistant coach Jon Sharp is the first-team coach.

"The move will give Tommy an opportunity to re-invent his game," said Lee's agent David Howes.

Lee made 68 Super League appearances for Hull, including 22 in 2009 before being released, and is among a handful of players currently training in south Wales.

The Crusaders are also thought to have agreed a deal to sign Canterbury Bulldogs' former New Zealand Test winger Matt Utai.
