Notts County face winding up case

Notts County

A second winding up petition has been served on Notts County from HM Revenue and Customs, meaning the club will not be able to sign new players this month.

Only two months ago, the Magpies paid a bill of about £400,000 in unpaid tax.

Chairman Peter Trembling told BBC Radio Nottingham this bill will be paid within the next fortnight.

But the Football League has imposed a transfer embargo on the League Two club - meaning they can do no business in the January transfer window.
