Bjoergen wins third Vancouver gold
Norway's Marit Bjoergen became the first triple gold medal winner in Vancouver after leading the women's cross-country relay team to victory.
Bjoergen and Sabina Valbusa of Italy went out together at the final exchange but the Norwegian immediately pulled away and skied to a comfortable win.
Norway finished the 4x5km race in 55 minutes, 19.5 seconds.
Germany took the silver medal after Valbusa faded off the pace and Finland won the bronze.
Bjoergen, who had already won gold in the women's 1.4km sprint classic and 15km pursuit, decided the race on the final leg, building on the efforts of team-mates Vibeke Skofterud, Therese Johaug and Kristin Stoermer Steira.
On entering the ski stadium with a massive lead the 29-year-old even had enough time to pick up a Norwegian flag and ski down the final straight using one pole.
Bjoergen, who also won bronze in the 10km free, has the chance of a fifth medal in Saturday's 30km mass start.
