Speed skater Jon Eley will carry the weight of expectation as Britain's last realistic medal hope when he goes in the men's short-track 500m on Friday.
Eley was second in the recent European Championships and hopes to improve on his fifth place in 2006 as Britain look to add to their one medal so far.
"I've definitely learned from the last Olympic Games. I've said all along I'm here to win a medal," said Eley.
In the women's slalom American Lindsey Vonn races despite a dislocated finger.
Eley will face strong opposition from Canada's Charles Hamelin , the world champion, and seven-time Olympic medallist Apolo Anton Ohno of the US.
The short-track 500m gets under way at 0200 GMT, while medals will also be decided in the women's 1,000m (0324 GMT) and the men's 5,000m relay (0351 GMT).
Elsewhere, British duo John Jackson and Dan Money will look to make amends after crashing out of the two-man bobsleigh in the four-man competition, with the first run at 2100 GMT in Whistler.
The pair will be joined by Allyn Condon , who competed in the 4x100m relay at the summer Games in Sydney back in 2000, and Henry Nwume.
"I made a little mistake coming out of turn 11 and ended up going over," said driver Jackson of his crash in the two-man event earlier this week.
"But we are good to go for the four-man now.
"We have come into this feeling quite relaxed and being relaxed is helping our performance I believe."
Canada and the United States are favourites after posting the quickest training runs, while Germany are looking to complete a two-man and four-man double.
Meanwhile, women's downhill champion Vonn plans to race in the women's slalom with a modified glove after dislocating a finger in the giant slalom.
"I was able to modify one of my gloves and make a brace for my right hand," she wrote on Facebook.
"It seemed to work without too much pain, so I will try and race on Friday."
Germany's Maria Riesch, Austria's Kathrin Zettel and France's Sandrine Aubert are favourites but, as defending champion, Sweden's Anja Paerson cannot be ruled out.
Chemmy Alcott, who finished 27th in the giant slalom on Thursday, goes again for Team GB with the first runs starting at 1800 GMT.
In the women's curling competition defending champions Sweden will face hosts Canada in the final (2300 GMT) while China face Switzerland in the bronze-medal match (1700 GMT).
In Vancouver, the men's ice hockey competition reaches the semi-final stage with the United States taking on Finland (2000 GMT) and Canada against Slovakia (0230 GMT).
The US have not won a gold in men's ice hockey since 1980, while Finland took silver in Turin.
Other medals to be decided on Friday include the men's 4x7.5km biathlon relay and the women's parallel giant slalom snowboarding.
