While Portsmouth seemed to have lurched from one crisis to another over the past 18 months, Fulham have made serene and steady progress under the stewardship of Roy Hodgson.
I am here with the team and as long as I am here I will do my best. My future is not the issue

The weekend saw Portsmouth not only lose out on another three points, but lose their most valuable asset in Younes Kaboul, who was sold to Tottenham Hotspur against the wishes of manager Avram Grant.
Although they lost the rags v riches encounter against Manchester City, the players at least showed some fire and spirit as the club comes apart at the seams around them.
An insipid defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday was out of character for Fulham and saw them lose for the first time in 11 matches at Craven Cottage, a record they had protected since September.
Five defeats on the spin has yet to set the alarm bells ringing, but such is the concertina-like appearance of the bottom half of the Premier League this season they are now only seven points off the relegation places.
When in a slump, though who better to face than Portsmouth, who continue to unravel at an alarming rate, although the sale of Kaboul at least meant the players could finally be paid, for now.
Head-to-head
• Fulham have won three and drawn one of their last four Premier League meetings with Portsmouth.
• Fulham won the encounter earlier this season at Fratton Park thanks to a goal from Bobby Zamora.
• The overall record between the two sides is: Fulham have 13 wins, Portsmouth 23 and there have been 18 draws.
