Half time
1247: HALF-TIME ABERDEEN 0-0 HEARTS

1245: Injured Hearts defender Dawid Kucharski trudges off to be replaced by Larryea Kingston.

1244: Darren Mackie almost breaks free inside the box after chasing down Charlie Mulgrew's lofted pass but Hearts keeper Janos Balogh is alive to the danger.

1242:
My Sport
From MemmOn My Sport: "Has anyone actually turned up to watch the game? With the look of the size of the crowd they could fit them all behind one goal, and these teams think they can survive without the Old Firm? They only get people in their stadiums when Celtic and Rangers visit."

1240: Pittodrie crackles to life with a moment of controversy. Darren Mackie and Marius Zaliukas clash going for a ball and the Hearts man crumples to the turf. Play rages on, much to the Jambos' dismay, but the Dons can't profit. Boos and finger-wagging all round.

Yellow card
1238: Aberdeen's Gary McDonald goes into the book for raising an arm in an aerial challenge on Hearts skipper Michael Stewart.

1236: Just over 10 minutes until the break and the home fans inside Pittodrie are becoming increasingly restless. Dons boss Mark McGhee, on the touchline, looks bewildered with proceedings.

1235: Effort on goal alert... Aberdeen defender Ricky Foster gathers the ball wide on the left and his low fizzing shot hits the side netting with Balogh at full stretch.

1231: Aberdeen are inching their way forward as the half wears on but Janos Balogh's penalty area has been so quiet the Hearts keeper could've dusted down his latest library book and ploughed through a few chapters.

1230: Eggert Jonsson nips the ball away from Mark Kerr but the Hearts counter-attack runs out of steam before it gets anywhere near the Aberdeen penalty area and that pretty much sums up a fairly shocking first half.

1227:
My Sport
From clarkfg On My Sport: "This kick-off is far too early!" There's certainly not been much to write home about in the opening half hour. I've got Aberdeen to win 2-1 in the BBC Predictor, not sure if that looks too clever at the moment!

1225: "The ball has to be over the top or into the strikers' feet so they can bring others into play." Former Aberdeen keeper and BBC pundit Jim Leighton on the fare so far.

1224: Hearts swarm forward but a sea of red in the Aberdeen defence eventually get the ball clear. Possession is being won and lost every few seconds - scrappy stuff.

1221: Maybe both sets of players think it's a 12.30 kick-off. We've yet to have an effort on target in the opening 20 minutes. Come on, get the finger out!

1220: Aberdeen's dead-ball specialist Charlie Mulgrew sends a free-kick harmlessly wide of Janos Balogh's goal.
Yellow card
Eggert Jonsson had moments earlier received a yellow. Very little in the way of silky football on show.

Yellow card
1217: Aberdeen midfielder Mark Kerr is the first name in the book for a challenge on Calum Elliot.

1215: Hearts spurn a good opportunity as Eggert Jonsson blazes a shot high over the bar from the edge of the area. His effort had more danger of taking someone's cup of bovril out than worrying Dons keeper Jamie Langfield...

1213: "It's all been pretty scrappy so far on a bobbly pitch; neither side capable of getting their foot on the ball on a quite atrocious surface." BBC Radio Scotland commentator Scott Davie

1212: Very little to report in terms of goalmouth action in a low-key opening 10 minutes in the Granite city. Aberdeen boss Mark McGhee cajoles his troops, looking for a goal to spark them into life.

1210:
My Sport
From Wolvibhoy On My Sport: As a life-long dandy don, it's time to put our trouble aside, get behind the manager and secure three points against the Jambo's. Come on the Dandy's!

1208: The Aberdeen fans find their voice as Darren Mackie tries to find Steven MacLean in the Hearts penalty area but Lee Wallace nips back to clear the danger.

1206: Following Aberdeen's recent problems it's perhaps understandable that the Dons fans are quiet. But they're very quiet, with more than a few empty red seats visible at a hushed Pittodrie...

1205: "We have changed one or two things and put a bit more emphasis on being positive. The players have responded and are enjoying it. But I'm still learning about them, which is difficult as we're trying to win games while trying to assess them." Hearts manager Jim Jefferies

1204: Aberdeen striker Darren Mackie flicks the ball over Janos Balogh into the net but the hitman had rightly been flagged offside.

1203: Hearts have started brightly on a poor Pittodrie pitch but neither goalkeeper has been called into action.

1201: "We are all a bit shell-shocked at the way we've been treated and described in the last week. After the Celtic game we had matches against Raith Rovers and Falkirk that were poor performances and disappointing results. But it does not make us bad people and we've got together this week and worked hard." Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee

1200: We're under way at a wind-swept Pittodrie.

1154: Have you got your predictions in for today's games? Show the BBC pundits how it's done by sprinkling your magic here

1149: The Jambos are in fine fettle at the moment, and travel to Pittodrie on the back of two consecutive league wins at Tynecastle against Hamilton and Falkirk.

1146: A win for the Dons this afternoon would see them move to within two points of sixth-placed Hearts with a game in hand. Aberdeen boss Mark McGhee will be keen to arrest their recent slump, which has included a Scottish Cup exit and a comprehensive defeat away to Falkirk...

For Hearts, goalkeeper Janos Balogh replaces Marian Kello, who is out after fracturing his wrist. Captain Michael Stewart returns in place of the injured Suso Santana in the only other change for Jim Jefferies's side.

1142: Goalkeeper Jamie Langfield returns to the Aberdeen line-up after dropping to the bench for last week's 3-1 defeat by Falkirk. The Dons, looking to end a seven-match run without a win, make three changes with Derek Young and Paul Marshall both recalled. Defender Jim Paterson missed out with an Achilles injury, while attacker Michael Paton and goalkeeper Stuart Nelson are on the bench.

1136: The first of our five games sees Aberdeen host Hearts at Pittodrie. The teams are: Aberdeen: Langfield, Young, Diamond, Foster, Mulgrew, Marshall, McDonald, Kerr, Fyvie, Mackie, MacLean. Subs: Nelson, Aluko, Duff, Grassi, Ifil, Paton, Jack.

Hearts: Balogh, Kucharski, Lee Wallace, Zaliukas, Jason Thomson, Novikovas, Michael Stewart, Stevenson, Jonsson, Elliot, Obua. Subs: Ridgers, Kingston, Mole, Templeton, Glen, Mulrooney, Smith.

1130: Good morning and welcome to the live text commentary for what promises to be a busy day of football in Scotland.
