Jonny Evans leaves the Northern Ireland squad's hotel on Tuesday
|
Jonny Evans has pulled out of Northern Ireland's friendly against Albania in Tirana on Wednesday.
Evans suffered a knock to his knee during Manchester United's Carling Cup win over Aston Villa, but still made the trip to the Albanian capital.
Nigel Worthington was already without injured trio Damien Johnson, Chris Brunt and Gareth McAuley and the unavailable Warren Feeney.
Evans' brother Corry will join up with the squad on Wednesday.
The younger Evans, who is also a Manchester United player, will link up with Nigel Worthington's squad after playing for the Northern Ireland Under-21 in their European qualifier against San Marino on Tuesday.
The loss of Evans means Northern Ireland are down to four defenders from the original squad - Stephen Craigan, George McCartney, Ryan McGivern and Andrew Little.
Northern Ireland's training session in Tirana was delayed for over an hour on Monday by the lack of any footballs.
At one stage, the Northern Ireland players kept themselves busy by playing a game of tag.

In terms of the players ruled out, Brunt has a calf injury while Johnson has been carrying an unspecified injury and was advised to miss the match.
Feeney misses out because his wife is due to give birth while McAuley is suffering from a groin injury sustained while playing for Ipswich Town.
Manager Worthington is keen to see Northern Ireland repeat their encouraging away displays when they drew in Poland and the Czech Republic during the World Cup qualifying campaign.
"Albania are 91st and we are 40th in the rankings. You look at that and think it is going to be easy," said Worthington.
"But I have watched DVDs of Albania and they have had very good results against great opposition than us, who are higher in the world rankings.
"We are going to go there and hopefully perform as we did in the Czech Republic and Poland and come away with a good result."
