1945: That game in Albania was in jeopardy after a significant amount of rain in Tirana over the last few days. The mud at the Qemal Stafa Stadium was apparently "ankle deep" yesterday, according to BBC 5 live. Albania have a striker called Bogdani... just thought I'd point that out.
1944: TEAMS Albania v Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland: Taylor, Little, McGivern, McCartney, Craigan, O'Connor, McGinn, Davis, Healy, Lafferty, McCann. Subs: Tuffey, Carson, Kirk, Shiels, Patterson, Evans.

From Thomas via text: "Stuff all of these tactical discussions. The first two names on Capello's teamsheet are colours. A first for the England team?"
Since the last time they played together?

1940: Olof Mellberg gets his 100th cap for Sweden tonight against Wales. The 32-year-old former Villa defender is now at Olympiakos.
1938: Aston Villa striker Nathan Delfouneso has just scored for England's Under-21s against Greece Under-21s. Stuart Pearce's side were already 2-0 down though. Eleven minutes to go at the Keepmoat Stadium.
1935: There will be a minute's silence ahead of the game at Wembley tonight in memory of
Keith Alexander, who died at the age of 53 last night.
Both teams will wear black armbands.
1931: TEAMS Wales v Sweden
Wales: Myhill, Gunter, Williams, Collins, Morgan, Bale, Collison, Davies, Vaughan, Evans, Church. Subs: Hennessey, Eardley, Dorman, Nyatanga, Crofts, Cotterill, Earnshaw, Vokes, King.
Sweden: Gustafsson, Mellberg, Majstorovic, Safari, Larsson, Rasmus Elm, Svensson, Kallstrom, Elmander, Toivonen, Wilhelmsson. Subs: Isaksson, Olsson, Granqvist, Lustig, Wendt, Wernbloom, Viktor Elm, Hysen.

1931: Now then, if you live in the UK and you're reading this on the web, I'd recommend a manual refresh and there'll be all manner of video/audio magic to entertain you.
1928: If you missed it earlier, England have come up with an almost-complete pre-World Cup plan. There'll be a training camp in Austria on 17 May after the FA Cup final. They will face Mexico at Wembley on a date to be confirmed. There'll be another training camp in Austria where there will also be a friendly against Japan on 30 May. The squad will be announced on 1 June.
From anon via text: "So many wannabe England managers out there that know better than Capello... here's one fan that thinks he's done a good job so far so will let him pick the team!"
BBC Sport's Phil McNulty at Wembley: "Fabio Capello has given Robert Green the nod ahead of David James as England goalkeeper tonight - a significant move. Surprised Joe Hart does not start as this would have been the perfect opportunity to test his international pedigree. Capello gave the game away somewhat yesterday when his response to being asked about Hart was: "He's young." Too young to be first-choice keeper it seems."
1922: TEAMS Scotland v Czech Republic
Scotland: Gordon, Hutton, Caldwell, Webster, Wallace, Dorrans, Darren Fletcher, Brown, Thomson, Robson, Miller. Subs: Marshall, Alexander, Iwelumo, Boyd, Kenneth, Whittaker, Adam, Hartley, Berra, Dixon.
Czech Republic: Drobny, Kusnir, Hubnik, Sivok, Kadlec, Plasil, Holek, Hubschman, Rosicky, Necid, Sverkos. Subs: Danek, Rajnoch, Papadopulos, Skacel, Pudil, Blazek, Moravek.

From BlueJolz on Twitter:
"I don't care about players' private lives. From now on in, England fans and the media need to get behind the team."
1918: TEAM NEWS WALES v Sweden
With Craig Bellamy absent through injury, Wales manager John Toshack again pairs Ched Evans and Simon Church up front for the friendly against Sweden. Aaron Ramsey's horrific injury allows Simon Davies to return after an 11-month absence with a foot injury. Hull's Boaz Myhill starts in goal in place of Wayne Hennessey while Aston Villa defender James Collins will captain the side at Swansea's Liberty Stadium. Blackpool's David Vaughan also gets a chance to shine after some impressive displays in the Championship.

From Dean_machine on 606:
"Capello talks about having to play regularly and in-form players being in the team. If this is the case then why is Walcott in the squad let alone the team? Why is Milner once again being used as a squad player? And why is Joe Hart not playing in goal?"
1914: Here is the Wales team to face Sweden in Swansea: Myhill, Gunter, Williams, Collins, Bale, Davies, Collison, Morgan, Vaughan, Church, Evans.
International friendlies Danny: "World Cup fans might like to cast their eyes further afield to see a few tasty matches between some highly-fancied qualifiers. Here are some of the best of the 1945 GMT kick-offs - Germany v Argentina, Italy v Cameroon and Netherlands v USA. And England's final Group C opposition Slovenia host Qatar. And at 2000 GMT, it's France v Spain."
1911: I'm not Fabio Capello. That much we know. But perhaps Walcott's selection over Milner is a chance for the Arsenal forward to prove he deserves a place in the squad? Milner is already on the plane, I would think.
From keeaannoo on 606:
"What has Walcott done this season to start in front of Milner?"
1909: Northern Ireland are the only one of the home nations playing away tonight. Tirana in Albania is their destination as they look for a first win on their travels in 13 months. Nigel Worthington plumps for an all-new back line of Andrew Little, Stephen Craigan, George McCartney and Ryan McGivern.
BBC 5 live summariser Graham Taylor: "I'm not surprised by the team. This is the game to have a look at things like the Rooney/Defoe partnership."
1905: Here's the England team then: Green, Brown, Upson, Terry, Baines, Walcott, Lampard, Barry, Gerrard, Rooney, Defoe.
1904: A Craig Bellamy-less Wales are up against a Zlatan Ibrahimovic-less Sweden at Swansea's Liberty Stadium. Bellamy was left out by John Toshack, who wouldn't be drawn on the striker's international future, except to say: "We wouldn't want to be in a position where we have to rely too heavily on him. So the more games that other players get, the better we will be."
1901: Scotland's first game under Craig Levein is against the not-as-good-as-they-used-to-be Czech Republic at Hampden Park. Kris Boyd has returned to the squad - but finds himself in the same position as when he quit the squad 18 months ago, ie on the bench. Kenny Miller will play in front of West Brom's Graham Dorrans.
1858: And by the way, if you thought Don Fabio stripping John Terry of the England captaincy was a touch harsh, here's what Egypt coach Hassan Shehata would have done (as quoted by the Sunday Mirror): "Both players [Terry and Ashley Cole] would be excluded and kicked out of the team - no matter who they are and how much the team needs them. This could never happen in the Egyptian team. We endorse strong bonds and respectful relationships."
1855: England are up against seven-times Africa Cup of Nations champions Egypt on the stodgy Wembley pitch. We think we know most of Fabio Capello's team (with some exceptions, which you'll probably notice): A Goalkeeper, Brown, Terry, Upson, A Left-Back, Milner, Lampard, Barry, Gerrard, A Striker, Rooney.
1850: Yes, after the thrilling drama of Handshakegate on Saturday comes Boogate. Will England fans boo John Terry? Will Scotland's supporters boo Kris Boyd if he comes on? That's what tonight's all about
as well as an opportunity to see England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland in action.
1847: ...oooooooooooooooooooooo."
1845: "Boooooooooooooooooo....
