1945: TEAM NEWS Manchester City v Wigan
Man City
boss Roberto Mancini welcomes back striker Emmanuel Adebayor after his four-match ban among four changes from the side beaten 2-0 at home by Everton last Wednesday. Javier Garrido, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Patrick Vieira start, with Micah Richards, Gareth Barry and Craig Bellamy dropped to the bench. Wigan manager Roberto Martinez makes just one change to the side that beat Burnley 1-0 on Saturday, with goalkeeper Chris Kirkland replaced by Vladimir Stojkovic. Michael Pollitt and Charles N'Zogbia are named on the bench.

1944: The teams are out at St James' Park and we're minutes away from kick-off.

1942: Anyone hoping for a goal bonanza tonight at Eastlands might want to chill. The last four meetings between City and Wigan have seen the ball cross the line a paltry three times. City have also failed to score in their last two home games, while Wigan are averaging less than a goal a game this season. What tonight's match might lack in goals, though, it will make up for in incident. I promise. Sort of.

optajoe on Twitter: "Man City have had the highest shooting accuracy in the Premier League this season (49%)."

1938: TEAMS Manchester City v Wigan
Man City:
Given, Zabaleta, Toure, Kompany, Garrido, Wright-Phillips, Vieira, De Jong, Adam Johnson, Tevez, Adebayor. Subs: Taylor, Richards, Onuoha, Santa Cruz, Sylvinho, Barry, Bellamy.
Wigan: Stojkovic, Melchiot, Caldwell, Bramble, Figueroa, McCarthy, Diame, Thomas, Scharner, Rodallega, Moreno. Subs: Gohouri, Scotland, Moses, Pollitt, N'Zogbia, Gomez, Sinclair.
Referee: Stuart Attwell (Warwickshire)

1937 Talking of form books - Nottingham Forest might want to avoid a glance at one. Billy Davies's side travel to St James' Park tonight on a run of six straight away defeats, to face a Newcastle team unbeaten at home all season and on a run of six straight wins. The Magpies have also won three of the last four games against Forest - although the last one went the way of the team in Red, in October.

VillaManJay on 606: "Spurs are going to self destruct with their tough, tough run in."

To conquer Eboue you must become Eboue on 606: "Just noticed my predictor was decided by the upcoming Chelsea/Manchester United game. Whoever won that came 1st, whoever lost came 3rd!"

1932: TEAM NEWS Newcastle v Nottm Forest
Newcastle,
just two wins from promotion, see Jose Enrique return after a hamstring injury. Striker Peter Lovenkrands has recovered from an ankle injury and midfielder Danny Guthrie makes his 100th club career start. Nottingham Forest welcome back James Perch (ankle) as they look to do the double over their promotion rivals this season for the first time since the 1977-78 season.

1929: Now then, let's get down to brass tacks, Aston Villa, in my humble opinion, are out of the race for fourth following their capitulation against Chelsea on Saturday. That leaves three teams in the mix. Tottenham and Liverpool threw down their very own gauntlets at the weekend and it is vital Man City respond tonight. To do so, though, they must overturn a form book which currently reads just one City win in their last nine matches against Wigan.

LeeFlaherty on Twitter: "As an Everton fan, only a Man City win will do tonight - just to make sure Liverpool don't finish 4th!"

Sam Lyon's Prediction
1925: All right then, I may as well take the pin out of the grenade and throw it into the mix. I anticipate at most 3% of you will agree with me - to the rest, have a go yourself. In a season as unpredictable as this one, you've got to call me brave for having a go.

1923: By the way, I normally struggle to predict that night will follow day so clearly don't take my predictions as gospel. Have a go yourself and let me know how you get on. The person who gets closest to the actual end result wins absolutely nothing whatsoever. Good luck.

boingboing__baggies on 606: "Didn't think I'd say it as a WBA fan, but come on Newcastle! We'll have one foot in the Premiership if we maintain a nine-point gap between us and Forest tonight!"

United6060 on 606: "You honestly think Burnley are going to lose all their remaining games and West Ham to go down only picking up 2 more points? I cant see that to be honest sides down the bottom usually pick up the most points this time of season. I see Hull going down."

1918: TEAMS Newcastle v Nottm Forest
Newcastle:
Harper, Simpson, Coloccini, Williamson, Jose Enrique, Routledge, Guthrie, Nolan, Gutierrez, Lovenkrands, Carroll. Subs: Krul, Barton, Ryan Taylor, Best, Butt, Ameobi, Kadar.
Nottm Forest: Camp, Perch, Wilson, Morgan, Gunter, Anderson, Moussi, Cohen, Tyson, Majewski, Blackstock. Subs: Smith, Chambers, McGugan, Adebola, Earnshaw, McCleary, McGoldrick.
Referee: Alan Wiley (Staffordshire)

Anon via text: "What about the Premier League's top three Sam? Where did they come in your predictions?"
Man Utd - 86, Arsenal - 84, Chelsea - 83. In other words, tight.

1915: So why not get in touch and tell me how I've got it all wrong? Tweet me, get involved on 606, or text in via 81111 (UK) or +44 7786200666 (worldwide). I can make you famous. Jubbly.

Rich, Nottingham, via text: "I managed to get Liverpool in 4th, with Tottenham and Man City a point behind, though not surprising as I'm a Liverpool fan!"

Indubitable on 606: "Crikey, I got exactly the same Prem Predictor outcome as Sam Lyon did. Although that was dependent on a dodgy 3-3 draw between Man City and Spurs."

1912: But tonight is not all about the Premier League, with a Championship match scheduled that can only be described as gargantuan. It's Newcastle v Nottingham Forest, and somewhere in London, Jonathan Stevenson is hiding behind his sofa. Win tonight and Newcastle have one foot in the Premier League, lose tonight and Forest's automatic promotion hopes receive a Lottery win-sized fillip. All in all, I make that Magic Monday o'clock. Have it.

Sam Lyon's Prediction
1909: And while tonight's Premier League encounter is likely to have a big say in the fight for fourth spot, it might also have a big say in the battle to beat the drop too, of course, because Wigan aren't safe yet. That said, I have the Latics surviving by nine points. Simples.

Parklaneyeed on 606: "I've got my blue and white scarf on but tonight i have swapped my Spurs one for a Wigan one. Very unlikely but anything less than three points for City will be a great result for Spurs and also Wigan (who need the points too don't forget). COME ON YOU LATICS!!!"

Sam Lyon's Prediction
1905: Here is the proof you Doubting Darrens. Crucially, though, I tipped Man City to beat Wigan 2-1 tonight. Where's ya money?

1900: This is no word of a lie, I did the BBC Premier League Predictor earlier and I had Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City (in that order on goal difference) all finishing on 68 points. The race for fourth is tighter than the Hulk's hatband and tonight City throw the next punch in the bout of the Premier League light-heavyweights. Excited?
