Shaw faces a race to be fit to face Scotland at Murrayfield
|
England lock Simon Shaw is set to learn on Tuesday the full extent of the shoulder injury he suffered in Saturday's Six Nations loss to Ireland.
Shaw, who went off in the opening minutes of England's 20-16 defeat, saw a specialist for a scan on Monday.
England have also confirmed that full-back Delon Armitage suffered rib cartilage damage in the match.
No timescale has been set for pair's return, but England next play on 13 March against Scotland at Murrayfield.
With Shaw and Armitage sidelined, Leicester lock Louis Deacon and Northampton full-back Ben Foden will join England's training camp at Pennyhill Park on Tuesday.

Both players came off the bench on Saturday and would be next in line for a start in their respective positions.
England manager Martin Johnson is keeping his starting XV plus Deacon, Foden and Bath tight-head prop David Wilson in camp this week.
The rest of the bench from Saturday's game and the 10 elite squad members who were not involved against Ireland will remain with their clubs and are available for Guinness Premiership action this weekend.
