Brian Davis and Greg Owen remained in contention after the weather-hit second round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans was finally completed.
American first round leader Jason Bohn shot a five-under 67 on Saturday to extend his advantage to four strokes.
Compatriot Jeff Overton and Aussie John Senden were tied for second after both shot 69s at Avondale, Louisiana.
Britain's Davis and Owen, plus Lee Janzen, Alex Cejka and Shaun Micheel were tied fourth another shot back.
Davis, runner-up last week to Jim Furyk at the Verizon Heritage having called a penalty on himself during a sudden death play-off, shot a round of 66.
"I went out today and nothing was really happening... and then it just caught fire," said the Londoner.

"I hit some close shots, made a couple of good putts and had a great back nine."
Owen had fired an opening round of 67, but had to be content with a 70 to leave him in the group on seven under.
Janzen carded a bogey-free 66, while Cejka's 67 was marred only by a bogey at the par-three 17th. Micheel also notched a round of 67.
Bohn got off to a late start and had to wait out a 90-minute delay, but offset a bogey with six birdies for a 132 total.
The rain and lightning that stopped play on Friday and delayed it Saturday morning gave way to strong winds gusting to more than 40 mph.
Tournament officials planned to make the cut after the second round ended and immediately begin the third round, with trios of players teeing off on the first and 10th holes.
