Hamilton sets first practice pace

Hamilton is bidding for his first race win of the 2010 season

McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton headed Mercedes' Nico Rosberg in the opening practice session for the Malaysian Grand Prix on Friday.

Hamilton was quickest with a time of one minute 34.921 seconds to pip Rosberg, who posted 1:35.106.

World champion Jenson Button went round in 1:35.207 and seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher was fourth-fastest with 1:35.225.

The drivers return for second practice session at 0700 BST.
