1246: Stat attack: Nobody on the pitch today has enjoyed the Edinburgh derby more than Ian Murray in terms of appearances. This is his 24th.

1245: It's been fairly evenly-matched in the first 10 minutes or so - a brief spell of pressure from Hearts, followed by some good play from Hibs, forcing a few corners and asking some questions of their visitors. At the moment, I would say Hibs look slightly more comfortable than Hearts - the Jambos seem to be playing a cautious game, soaking up the pressure.

1244: "Hibs are winning all the 50-50s. It's a great start to the game." BBC Scotland pundit Craig Paterson at Easter Road.

1243: A brief spell of pressure for Hibs ends with Hearts pushing their hosts back. Good derby stuff, as Craig Paterson has just remarked on Radio Scotland 810MW.

1242: "There's some good battles going on at the back. Hanlon versus Palazuelos is interesting." BBC Scotland's pundit Allan Preston at Easter Road.

1241 Derek Riordan forces a save from Jamie MacDonald from 16 yards out with a low drive. The Hearts goalie is forced to tip it wide for a corner.

1238: "Palazuelos likes to get forward, but today he knows it's a different job. He wont be charging forward." BBC Scotland pundit Craig Paterson at Easter Road.

1236: Hearts' David Templeton works the ball past Ian Murray on the right-hand side and fires in from the edge of the penalty area, but Graeme Smith parries it wide for a corner. Some good work in the opening minute from the visitors.

1235: Don't forget folks, you can send us your comments on today's matches by text on 8029 or on My Sport.

1234: Over 50 players have played in the Edinburgh derby over the last four years, but none today make their debut for either side.

1233: With Michael Stewart missing, Eggert Jonsson, Laryea Kingston, Ryan Stevenson and Ian Black come into the Hearts line-up, with Ismael Bouzid, Craig Thomson and Suso dropping to the bench. Despite Hibs manager John Hughes having said on Thursday that captain Chris Hogg and midfielder Liam Miller had little chance of playing, both make the starting line-up, the defender recovering from a back injury.

1232: And we're off at Easter Road! Let's hope it's a cracker.

1230: And the players are out on the pitch to a loud applause.

1229: The sounds of The Proclaimers' 'Sunshine on Leith' booms out over the Easter Road PA system. The Hibs fans are singing along as John Hughes emerges on to the pitch and takes his place in the home dugout.

1227: The Hearts players players are in the tunnel and getting ready to take to the pitch.

1226: Michael Stewart is missing completely from the Hearts squad. He lost the captaincy duties last weekend and manager Jim Jefferies refused to say in midweek whether the midfielder would feature again this season. It's an amazing turnaround in fortune for the Scotland cap, who was seen as such a crucial part of former manager Csaba Laszlo's team but who has suffered on-field discipline problems.

1225: Five minutes until kick-off folks. Exciting stuff. I always like the Edinburgh derbies - let's hope today's another cracker with Hearts pushing Hibs all the way for a valuable Europa League qualifying slot.

1224: BBC Scotland pundit Allan Preston reckons it'll be a 1-1 draw today, with Anthony Stokes scoring the first goal.

1223: "There's no doubting Michael Stewart's ability but I don't think he'll be at Hearts next season. He hasn't got over playing for Manchester United." BBC Scotland pundit Allan Preston.

1222: We've got just under 10 minutes until kick-off at Easter Road. Are you at the match catching the updates on your iPhone (editor's note: other mobile devices are available) or are you sitting in the house watching on the telly or listening to Radio Scotland 810MW? If so, send us your views via text on 80295 or via My Sport.

1217: " It's an absolute must win for Hibs today and a lot of players will be out there playing for their futures for Hearts too, so they could do themselves a lot of good by playing well in the atmosphere of an Edinburgh derby." BBC Scotland pundit Craig Paterson at Easter Road.

1216: "Hearts and Hibs were hoping for more going into this game but regardless, it's an Edinburgh derby. Hibs could find themselves creeping in to fourth if Celtic give Motherwell a hard day, so that would take the pressure off." BBC Scotland pundit Allan Preston at Easter Road.

1211: Some team news from Easter Road:

Hibernian: Smith, Thicot, Hogg, Hanlon, Murray, Wotherspoon, Miller, Rankin, Stokes, Nish, Riordan. Subs: Ma-Kalambay, McCann, Cregg, Stevenson, Benjelloun, Gow, Galbraith.

Hearts: MacDonald, Templeton, Palazuelos, Zaliukas,Lee Wallace, Stevenson, Jonsson, Black, Kingston, Obua, Glen. Subs: Lyness, Santana, Jason Thomson, Bouzid, Elliot, Smith, Craig Thomson.

Today's man in the middle is Dougie McDonald.

1208: "If we had won last week, it would have tightened everything up. But I've said to the players even if they win, it's not in their hands. We've done well to get into the top six, which was the main target. But it'll appease the fans if we can put another win on the board and soften the blow a wee bit." Hearts manager Jim Jefferies speaking to BBC Scotland's Paul Mitchell ahead of the Edinburgh derby at Easter Road.

1203: "They have to come here and win the match, if they don't they're out of it. So, we'll put out an attack-minded team, which is when the boys are at their best. Hopefully, with a bit of hard work, we can get a win today." Hibernian manager John Hughes speaking to BBC Scotland commentator Paul Mitchell at Easter Road ahead of the Edinburgh derby.

1200: We have a full card of Scottish Premier League action for you today folks, with a 1230 BST kick-off at Easter Road when Hearts travel to face Hibs, knowing a win would keep their chances of reaching a European slot alive, while John Hughes' side can all but clinch their place in the Europa League qualifiers with a victory.

At 1500 BST, we have Aberdeen hosting Hamilton at Pittodrie, Motherwell make the trip to Celtic Park and Dundee United face-off against Rangers.

But the two big matches of the day involve the teams at the bottom end of the table. Falkirk host St Mirren needing a win or a draw to hold off the threat of relegation, while St Johnstone travel to Kilmarnock, with the hosts needing points from their last three matches to avoid the drop.

Who says the SPL isn't exciting?

And let's not forget, there's everything to play for in the Scottish Football League with the Second Division title still to be decided and promotion/relegation battles going on all across the country on the final day of the SFL season.

Stay with us folks for regular updates throughout the day - and don't forget to send us your views via SMS on 80295 or on My Sport .
