2045: Ross Ford's lineout finds Johnnie Beattie and the ball finds its way to Parks and high into the Argentine half once again. The ball is spending a lot of time in the air...
2043: The Pumas half-wheel Scotland's rolling maul before the visitors send it deep into Argentine territory. High kicks and possession are traded and it's all a bit scrappy.
2040: Argentina captain Felipe Contepomi leads from the front as he searches for an opening without success. The 14-man Pumas are trying to turn the screw.
2039: The Scots are 40 minutes away from winning a first Test series in the southern hemisphere. We're under way in the second half.
2033: Former Scotland lock Doddie Weir is part of the summarising team on BBC Two Scotland. He's wearing a pair of eye-catching tartan trousers that would certainly pierce the Argentine gloom and drizzle. They have to be seen to be believed and would look top-notch under strobe lighting on a dancefloor. Golfer Ian Poulter will be on the phone wanting a pair...
2032:
Harvey on My Sport:
"Couple of dropped balls by Argentina now, maybe a boring high ball can help settle Scotland down and keep them in the right half of the pitch."

|
2029: The wind and rain have made this second Test in Argentina seem more like a Six Nations battle in Edinburgh in March, but the Scots must be happy with their display so far.

2026: "The weather isn't great tonight but it hasn't affected Scotland who are still playing their off-loading game." Former Scotland captain Andy Nicol
2025: The rain continues to batter down in Mar del Plata but it hasn't cooled the Pumas' ire as they look to win the second Test and avoid a series defeat.
2023: Rodrigo Roncero receives a yellow card as Argentine frustration boils over. The Stade Francais prop trudges off, despite his impressive wide-eyed innocence. Can the Scots make their numerical advantage pay in the remaining three minutes of this first half?
2022: Dan Parks kicks into space once again as there's little chance to offload amid a swarm of on-rushing Pumas - what a sight!
2019: The Scots spurn a chance to extend their lead as Dan Parks misses his second penalty in a row. A rueful shake of the head from the stand-off there; hope the Scots don't rue those lost six points. Argentina being penalised and becoming more frustrated as the half wears on. Max Evans's break hints at what the Scots are capable of
2017: The chorus of Argentine boos must've put Dan Parks off, as the Scotland points-machine sends his penalty wide of the post. The Scots remain four points ahead with a little over nine minutes until the break.
2016: Max Evans sparks a quick Scotland break and offloads before the visitors almost break through a couple of desperate Argentina tackles. The Scots earn a penalty for their labours. Here comes Dan Parks...
2014: "Both sides experiencing periods of ascendancy in front of a large but very quiet crowd." BBC Scotland's Jim Mason in Mar del Plata
2013:
the1withpaceon My Sport:
"The try aside both teams are struggling to find some momentum, Argentina struggling to find possession. I think we're in for a mistake-ridden 20 minutes before both teams settle"

PENALTY: Argentina 6-10 Scotland
2011: Dan Parks silences the crowd once again with another superb kick. That's eased some of the pressure on the Scots with about 15 minutes remaining of a compelling first half.

2008: Conceding a couple of penalties has seen Scotland lose the initiative, but Jim Hamilton's try must've brought a smile to Andy Robinson's face.
PENALTY: Argentina 6-7 Scotland
2006 The boot of Felipe Contepomi puts the Pumas to within a point of Scotland. The visitors need to regain their composure.

2004: The ball is scrambled back to Dan Parks and he clears to touch but the home crowd sense a score here...
2003: We've had 17 fairly bruising minutes and the Pumas are beginning to exert a bit of pressure on the Scots. Argentina have a lineout deep in Scotland's 22. But it's a good steal by Al Kellock.
2000: PENALTY: Argentina 3-7 Scotland The Pumas reduce the deficit as Felipe Contepomi splits the posts with a routine penalty in front of goal.
1959: Penalty for Argentina after John Barclay is penalised for not releasing.
1957: "Scotland can't afford to let the Argentine forwards get into this game." Former Scotland captain Andy Nicol
1956: Andy Robinson's men have the hosts on the back foot; Parks is finding his kicking range amid the torrential rain in Mar del Plata.
1954: Dan Parks attempts an audacious drop-goal from just inside Argentine territory but it drifts just wide of the right-hand post.
1952: Dan Parks feeds Kelly Brown but he fails to profit from a promising opening with a frustrating knock-on. But the Scots have silenced the home supporters with an enterprising start.
1950: CONVERSION: Argentina 0-7 Scotland Dan Parks is gun-barrel straight with is conversion and the Scots have started impressively in this second and potential series-winning Test.
1948: TRY: Argentina 0-5 Scotland Jim Hamilton plunges over following a successful maul after Dan Parks's well-placed penalty had put the visitors in an excellent position in the corner. Lock Hamilton draws first blood for the Scots.
1947: Johnnie Beattie gets an early chance to spear his way into Argentine territory but he's soon swamped by fired-up Pumas.
1946: Dan Parks gets us under way!
1945: With treacherous conditions overhead and underfoot it will be interesting to see how both sides handle in the early stages.
1943: The national anthems of the respective sides give the players and supporters alike the chance to clear the lungs and keep the circulation going: it looks quite cold. BBC Scotland's Jim Mason is our man out there; I hope he's got his long-johns on...
1942:
the1withpace on My Sport:
"How concerned will Scotland be with scoring tries? Or will they hope to show consistency and improvement in the form of a second test victory to clinch the series?"

|
1939: Argentine flags and umbrellas are held aloft as both sides are cheered onto the sodden turf in Mar del Plata.
1938: Scotland have been relying on the trusty right boot of Dan Parks to keep the scoreboard ticking over: he scored all 24 points in last weekend's win. He needs some help.
1934: Johnnie Beattie's try in the 23-20 win over Ireland at Croke Park in the final game of last season's Six Nations saw the Scots avoid the dreaded wooden spoon. Max Evans and John Barclay weighed in with a try each in the defeat by Wales at Cardiff: a loss that still sends shivers down the spine...
1932: Scotland are growing in confidence and stature under Andy Robinson but lack composure in the opposition 22.
1931: Stade Francais prop Rodrigo Roncero believes Argentina have a score to settle after last Saturday's reverse. "You cannot play rugby if you give away as many penalties as we gave last Saturday, but we have what it takes to correct it," he said. "We scored two tries and that's a good thing. We controlled the ball and, despite penalties, Scotland never got into our try line."
1930: Santiago Guzman and Rafael Carballo are among the replacements, Mariano Galarza and Ignacio Mieres miss out. Nicolas Vergallo will be the Pumas' replacement scrum-half.
1928: Argentina make two changes to the side beaten by Scotland in Tucuman. Coach Santiago Phelan brings scrum-half Agustin Figuerola in for Alfredo Lalanne, while Lucas Gonzalez Amorosino replaces Lucas Borges on the left wing.
1925:
Saint WLG - making Britain Great since 1989 on My Sport:
"Can the Scots clinch a series win with another victory over the Pumas? Probably not. Unless they managed to find some consistency... which I will be surprised at. Good luck!"
|
|
1922: Robinson would be even more chuffed if the Scots find a cutting edge in the Argentine 22, and a try or two would certainly ease the scoring burden on stand-off Dan Parks.
1921: The Scots are aiming to secure their first series win in the southern hemisphere. Andy Robinson's side, buoyed by last week's 24-16 victory in Tucuman, make only one change, with winger Simon Danielli coming in for Nick de Luca in the final Test.
