Wales centre Andrew Bishop has been ruled out of next Saturday's second Test against New Zealand in Hamilton.

An X-ray revealed the Osprey broke a bone in his hand during the 42-9 loss in Dunedin, so Scarlet Jonathan Davies is likely to replace him in the side.

There is still a doubt over Stephen Jones' thumb injury and the fly-half will undergo further tests.

"Stephen has... been X-rayed, but the initial results are inconclusive," said Wales physiotherapist Mark Davies.

"We are arranging for a further scan to fully determine the extent of the injury."

"Andrew has a spiral fracture to the third metacarpal bone in his right hand. The injury is not complex but he is in plaster and will be out of action for the next four weeks."

Wales coach Warren Gatland will not call a replacement for Bishop into the squad, as the management considers they have enough cover at centre already among the tourists.

A final decision will be made on Jones, and on any potential replacement for the fly-half, over the next 24 hours subject to medical advice.

Scarlets star Jones was replaced by Dan Biggar in the 57th minute while Tavis Knoyle came on for his debut with six minutes remaining as Bishop retired injured, Knoyle taking over at scrum-half while Mike Phillips filled in at centre.

Jonathan Davies came on for Roberts with 10 minutes to go, but Gatland confirmed that the knock the British and Irish Lions centre took was not serious and Roberts will be fit for Hamilton.

But Gatland admitted he could make some changes following their five tries-to-nil demolition by New Zealand.

"We'll probably make a couple of changes depending on the injuries of the players," said Gatland.

"We may need to have a close look to see if we should give a couple of players a chance up front to experience that."

New Zealand also have injury concerns ahead of next week's Test at the Waikato Stadium, with lock Anthony Boric (cheek) and full-back Israel Dagg (concussion) likely absentees, although fly-half Dan Carter's calf strain is not thought to be serious.

Carter scored two tries in a 27-point haul in Dunedin, as the Crusaders star gave a masterclass in half-back play.
