The second Test between Sri Lanka and India in Colombo ended in an inevitable draw to leave the hosts 1-0 up going into the final match of the series.

Sri Lanka declared at 129-3 in their second innings and both captains decided to end the match 13 overs after tea on the final day on Friday.

India were dismissed for 707, their highest overseas score, earlier in the day to take a first-innings lead of 65.

A total of 1,478 runs were scored and only 17 wickets taken over five days.

Sri Lanka declared their first innings, which included centuries from Kumar Sangakkara (219), Mahela Jayawardene (174) and Tharanga Paranavitana (100), on 642-4.
