Edgar Davids is "seriously considering" an offer to play for Crystal Palace, boss George Burley has revealed.
The 37-year-old former Netherlands international is keen to resume his playing career and has held talks with Burley about joining the Eagles.
Burley told BBC London 94.9: "He's quite keen on the idea of coming to play at Palace.
"It's one he's seriously considering. Hopefully he will come, it would certainly be an interesting scenario."
Davids, who lists Ajax, AC Milan, Juventus, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Tottenham as his former clubs, has not played a competitive game in two years.
But Burley revealed he had been training with Ajax recently in preparation for a comeback.
"There's no doubting his intention is to play again," said the Palace boss.
"I don't know how fit he is. He certainly looks fit and there's no doubt about his quality and for younger players to see someone like that training and playing would be great."
However, he stressed the deal for the midfielder who won 74 international caps, had not been wrapped up.
"It's not going to be a financial thing for Edgar. It's a challenge for him," he said.
"At the moment it's still a little bit up in the air and we'll see what happens in the next couple of days."
