Finn took only one wicket in last week's third Test at The Oval

Seamer Steven Finn says that England still believe they have the upper hand on Pakistan despite the tourists' victory in the third Test at the Oval.

The teams meet at Lord's on Thursday with England 2-1 up in the Test series.

"Just because they have won one Test, it does not mean they are any closer to us. We feel we are a superior team," said 21-year-old Finn.

England are set to field the same XI as in the first three Tests, with Yorkshire's Tim Bresnan as 12th man.

Seamer Bresnan comes into the squad for the fourth Test to provide cover for James Anderson, Stuart Broad and Steven Finn.

Following their unexpected defeat at The Oval, the possibility of any changes to England's line-up receded after opener Alastair Cook broke a run of poor form with a score of 110 in the second innings in the third Test.

Pakistan's four-wicket victory was the first time Finn had tasted Test defeat since making his international debut on the tour of Bangladesh in March.

After victories by 354 runs and nine wickets respectively in the first two Tests, Finn is hopeful his side can return to winning ways and clinch the series in style.

"We are looking to do exactly the same as we did to them in the first two Tests matches in the fourth - 3-1 would obviously be great and it would be a resounding victory," he added.

But the 21-year-old Middlesex bowler has admitted that his own third-Test figures allow plenty of room for improvement.

He was England most expensive bowler in both innings and finished with only one wicket to show for the concession of 92 runs.

"There were times in the game where we wanted to dry it up and I leaked too many four balls so is something for me to address in this next game," he reflected.

"I am part of an international attack and I have to perform and earn my keep inside that attack.

"So if I am told by the captain to come on and try and dry up the runs as much as I can then that is something that I have to do."

Pakistan have already lost once this summer at Lord's when they beaten by 150 runs by Australia in July and last beat England at the ground in 1996.
