England have named an unchanged squad for the second Test against Pakistan at Edgbaston, which starts on Friday.
Yorkshire all-rounder Tim Bresnan, who was left out of the team that beat Pakistan by 354 runs on Sunday, has been retained in the 12-man squad.
Bresnan, 25, was called up as cover for club-mate Ajmal Shahzad, who aggravated an ankle problem last week.
However, the hosts are set to name an unchanged XI at Birmingham as they seek a 2-0 lead in the four-Test series.
National selector Geoff Miller said: "We were delighted with the performance in the first Test but the key to consistency is building on that success throughout the rest of the series.
"We saw a number of outstanding performances at Trent Bridge, not only with bat and ball but also in the field, and the challenge is to maintain those standards over the next three Test matches."
England opted for safety when Shahzad, who made his Test debut against Bangladesh in July, reported discomfort in his ankle in training last Tuesday, drafting in Bresnan as cover.
However, both men bowled their allotted eight overs for Yorkshire in a Clydesdale Bank 40 League match against the Netherlands on Sunday.
"Tim Bresnan returns to the squad, while Ajmal Shahzad will play for Yorkshire in their LV County Championship match commencing Tuesday," added Miller.
"We would like to see how Ajmal gets through this four-day match given the recent ankle injury that saw his withdrawal from the first Test squad."
