Hamilton signed a £41m five-year deal with McLaren in 2007

Despite the recession, F1 drivers are still some of the biggest earners in sport with McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton earning around £8.2m per-year, while team-mate Jenson Button picks up £6.6m per-year. Reports put Fernando Alonso's earnings at Ferrari between £9.9m and £12.3m per-year.

Ferrari are the most reliable team in F1, an analysis by Germany's Auto Motor und Sport has found. Red Bull lead the championships and have collected the most wins and pole positions, but rank second in the reliability stakes having completed 98 laps less than the Italian team.

Mercedes GP will have to replace their reserve driver Nick Heidfeld, because the 33-year-old is expected to commence his new role as Pirelli's permanent tyre tester in August.

Organisers of the F1 Rocks concert which will take place at the Singapore Grand Prix in September have announced Mariah Carey, Missy Elliott, Daughtry, Adam Lambert will be among the musical acts performing.
