Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be on his way back to Italy, according to AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani.

Both Barca and the Swede, who moved to the Nou Camp from Inter Milan for £40m in 2009, are said to be keen on a move.

Galliani stated negotiations are "very complex, very difficult, very expensive" but are set to continue.

Ibrahimovic's deal with Barca is thought to include a buy-out clause of 250m euros (£216m) for the player.

The Swedish international spent three years at Inter Milan and joined Barca with Samuel Eto'o moving the other way to the Italian club on a five-year deal.

Galliani told AC Milan's official website, www.acmilan.com that Barcelona were happy to sell the 28-year-old.

"The will of Barcelona is to sell the player to Milan, the availability of the player also like that," he said.

"There is a lot of money to overcome and this is the difficulty.

"I do all that is in my ability and capacity to try to bring this great champion to Milan. It is very difficult."
