By Jonathan Stevenson

From Paul, in the white half of N. London, via text: "The final is at Wembley, the year ends in 1 (well, two 1s to be exact)... it's surely set up for a Spurs v Arsenal final, isn't it?"

Pot Four: Hapoel Tel Aviv, FC Twente, Rubin Kazan, Auxerre, CFR Cluj, Partizan Belgrade, MSK Zilina, Bursaspor.

Pot Three: Tottenham, Rangers, Ajax, Schalke, Basle, Braga, FC Copenhagen, Spartak Moscow.

Pot Two: Werder Bremen, Real Madrid, Roma, Shakhtar Donetsk, Benfica, Valencia, Marseille, Panathinaikos.

Pot One: Inter Milan, Barcelona, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Lyon.

1651: So, with the presumably needlessly grand ceremony just some French minutes away from kick-off inside the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, who wants to know which teams are in which pot? Oh go on then...

From rawsheen on Twitter: "Chance of some tough groups, & the chance of really easy ones. Man U guaranteed to get Panathinaikos, Copenhagen & Bursaspor."

From Ed (Spurs fan), Battersea, via text: "Three teams in the top European competition from one city. A first? And a logistical nightmare."
Not a first, mate. In 2003/04, Athens had three - Olympiakos, Panathinaikos and AEK

1642: Right then, here's some sort of schedule for events this evening, though the draw time may not be exact (and, forget ye not, there will be a separate live text on the Scottish teams in the Europa League that starts at about 1830 BST):
1700 BST: Champions League group stage draw

Europa League:
1830 BST: Trabzonspor v Liverpool (agg 0-1)
1945 BST: Aston Villa v Rapid Vienna (agg 1-1)
1945 BST: Man City v FC Timisoara (agg 1-0)
1945 BST: Birmingham v Rochdale (Carling Cup)

From Patrick_in_NY on 606: "Man Utd v Real Madrid. Please, please, please, please."

1635: In many ways, the Champions League group stage draw is more entertaining than some of the games themselves. Discuss. Here's how: send us a text to 81111 (UK) and +44 7786200666 (worldwide); whack me a tweet @Stevo_football; and get stuck into the debate on 606 as well.

1630: Tonight's football involving British clubs doesn't start until 1830 BST, but it's a safe bet there'll be some interest in what comes to pass before then. Welcome to the draw for the group stage of the Champions League - and Tottenham fans, it's especially lovely to have you lot here.
