By Keir Murray

1845: Peter Utaka takes a frustrated swipe at the ball, sending his shot well wide of Darren Randolph's post.

1844: Odense are playing it calmly at the back, pinging it along the defensive line as they look ahead for a suitable pass.

1842: I went along to the Scotland Under-21s match against Sweden at St Mirren Park last week. Motherwell's Jamie Murphy did not look out of place at that level at all.

1841: Still, there is no need to panic. Motherwell have looked fairly comfortable until that goal.

1838: Craig Brown will be furious at losing that goal. We all know how meticulous the manager is in his defensive preparations, so to lose a goal so cheaply will be eating away at him. Darren Randolph seemed to be caught in two minds whether to come for the ball or not.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
The Danes take the lead directly from a free-kick out on the right wing. Chris Sorensen clips an angled "cross" into the box and it evades everyone as it bounces into the net.

GOAL: Odense 1-0 Motherwell

1834: But no joy for the hosts as the corner comes to nothing - Johan Absalonsen tries a shot from outside the box but it sails over the bar.

1833: Odense win a corner after scything through the Well defence.

1831: It has already been quite an adventure for Motherwell. They have beaten Breidablik and Aalesunds in previous qualifying rounds.

1830: A nice effort there by Tom Hateley, his low, curling shot just a yard wide of Roy Carroll's right-hand post.

1829: Motherwell have a free-kick on the edge of the box.

1827: Darren Randolph makes a strong save from a left-hand blast by Chris Sorensen.

1825: The Steelmen are playing further up the pitch than I expected. The local fans aren't too impressed at the time it is taking the Scots to take a throw-in, though.

1823: Motherwell are looking fairly comfortable, although they are a bit fortunate that Peter Utaka did not connect properly on the six-yard line with a low cross from the right.

1822: Good to see Roy Carroll in action again. He is a player I had lost track of.

1820: Back to the action on the pitch, Tom Hateley has launched a free-kick high over the bar from 25 yards.

1818: That might not sound a tremendous amount but their turnover is only £4m.

1817: To give you some idea of the importance of this match to Motherwell, if they can reach the Europa League they will net something like £1.5m.

1815: Keith Lasley takes a sore one on the leg from Peter Utaka. He's OK to carry on, though.

1812: Chris Humphrey makes a good run down the left wing but the move peters out. A nice burst of pace from the Motherwell man.

1810: Odense's Chris Sorensen crosses the ball from the right wing as the Danes hit back.

1806: Jamie Murphy puts an early chance for Motherwell over the bar.

1805: Stephen Craigan does his captain's bit for Motherwell...and we're off.

1803: Motherwell are in their usual claret and amber, Odense in a blue and white Kilmarnock-style strip.

1802: The teams are coming out now. It's a lovely sunny evening.

1800: Jamie Murphy will be played through the middle, with Chris Humphrey on the left wing. Odense start with former Manchester United pair Roy Carroll and Eric Djemba-Djemba. The Danes are without the injured Henrik Toft and his suspended strike partner Kalilou Traore, with Brazilian Caca starting up front alongside Peter Utaka, the younger brother of Portsmouth's John Utaka.

1759: Craig Brown and his assistant Archie Know are wily old characters and they will surely need to call on all their experience to get past the Danes.

1757:Odense, meanwhile, have gone with: Carroll, Ruud, Haland, Andreasen, Christensen, Utaka, Absalonsen, Sorensen, Caca, Djemba-Djemba, Gislason. Subs: Alexander Lund Hansen, Henrik Hansen, Johansson, Johansen, Kadrii, Feldballe, Hoegh.

1755: So that's the same team that was beaten by 3-2 by Hibs on Sunday, but John Sutton will play off the front to mark Eric Djemba-Djemba.

1752: We have the Motherwell team news. Manager Craig Brown goes with: Randolph, Saunders, Hammell, Reynolds, Craigan, Hateley, Humphrey, Jennings, Murphy, Sutton, Lasley. Subs: Hollis, McHugh, Fitzpatrick, Forbes, Hutchinson, Page, Blackman.

1748: Motherwell are first up. They are away to Odense in Denmark. My colleague Alasdair Lamont has made the trip and will be sending his observations on the match as it happens. After that, Celtic take on Dutch side Utrecht and Dundee United play AEK Athens at Tannadice.

1745: Good evening. A warm welcome to the live text commentary covering the three Scottish sides in Europa League qualifying action.
