1350: So, clearly
the tee-times are out of whack,
but the order of play should remain the same provided we get some golf at one point or another. So that means Colin Montgomerie and Chris Wood will go out in the third groups, followed soon after by the likes of Ross Fisher, Ernie Els, Darren Clarke, Miguel Angel Jimenez and with Justin Rose and Simon Khan among the back-markers of the first round after that. Now talk of a Monday finish might just be premature as it stands - don't forget things should get easier after the cut - but then any more early morning foggy spells and things could get tricky.

1339: So how are we assessing
Tiger Woods's opening round?
The world number one, joint 78th out of 80 at last week's WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, was three under after only four holes at Whistling Straits before falling back to one-under for the round. So is that a hint at a return to form or more evidence of his fragile game and confidence at the moment? "I got off to a quick start and all of a sudden I felt like I could shoot something in the 60s, but it didn't quite happen," he said. "I've just got to continue to improve every day, I just need to solidify."

1324: So, as none of you have come to the party, I guess I'll have to - you know - do my job and stuff and give you a little summary of
events from yesterday.
Well Ryder Cup hopeful (and looking increasingly like Ryder Cup shoo-in) Francesco Molinari leads the way in the clubhouse alongside American Bubba Watson on four under - but that pair were being hunted down mercilessly by the time bad light curtailed play at around 2000 local time. Ernie Els, Matt Kuchar and Nick Watney were all left out on the course at four under, while Simon Khan and Darren Clarke led the British contingent on three under through seven and 13 respectively. Tiger Woods led at one point and then fell away, Rory McIlroy got off to a horrific start but then recovered, and the likes of Paul Casey, Ian Poulter and Luke Donald are all fairly well placed on even par. What have I missed?

1313: A bit more on the conditions at Whistling Straits - according to
the weather report on the official site,
it's foggy and warm, but with hope of an improvement later in the day. Yesterday, as I mentioned, we were delayed by three hours - let's hope it's not that bad hey?

From kwiniaskagolfer on 606:
"By the way, there's fog so today's play will all be delayed. No idea how bad it is."
1305: Can I just lend my heartfelt thanks to
kwiniaskagolfer
over on 606 - not just for correcting my 'deliberate' (ahem) mistake at 1259, but for kicking off the chat. Nice one.

1259: While you all ruminate on how to sum up the first day in no more than 140 characters Twitter-style, let me tell you that we're moments away from the first tee-off of the day, with Fredrik Andersson Hed, David Hutsell and John Senden resuming their first rounds on the 17th, and Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano, Tim Thelen and Paul Goydos doing similar on the seventh. Get in touch on

or via text on 81111 (UK) or +44 7786200666 (worldwide) why don't you?
1253: Now then, we're looking at a bumper day's play today, with dozens of players still to finish their first rounds (after fog delayed play on the opening day by three hours) and a whole second round to get through. That means a nice and early start for the likes of British trio Chris Wood, Colin Montgomerie and Ross Fisher - and a fair few more besides. Anyone fancy providing a precis of
the first day?
1245: Y'alright ladies and gentlemen, welcome to day two of the USPGA Championship at Whistling Straits, Wisconsin. Anyone know if it's foggy out there at the moment?
