1647: FYI - we're still not sure when the third round is going to get under way. Should get a better idea once all these second-round shenanigans are over.
From James in St Ives via text: "I have money on Brendon de Jonge. Thought it was all over after an opening 74, but what a round! Go zimbabwe!" Fair point there from James - as it stands, Brendon has stormed 78 places up the leaderboard for a share of fifth place after an astonishing nine birdies (and two bogeys). Two holes to go for him.
From anon via text on 81111: "Rory may get the press, but Rhys Davies having a blinder at -4. Need a Welshman in Ryder Cup."

1628: Yang found the creek with his tee shot at the last. Not looking good for him in terms of making the cut...
1620: Vijay, let's not forget is playing with Tiger Woods and defending champion YE Yang. The Fijian has had an absolute blinder in his second round: an initial bogey has been followed by five birdies, an eagle and 10 pars to absolutely rocket up the leaderboard. We may be still on the second round but day three has still been moving day for old Veej... Yang, meanwhile, is battling to make the cut. His active defence of his title might not be going on for that much longer. Tiger has enjoyed himself on the back nine with three birdies and has just played a beautiful approach at the last.
1617: Furyk has made six birdies (admittedly with three bogeys spoiling things a little) to card a 68. Vijay Singh is also just a shot back on five under.
1612: As Iain mentioned, we're getting some big names creeping up the leaderboard now with Jim Furyk and JB Holmes doing some damage as they move into a share of third place.
