0651: Arguably the name of the day award has already been wrapped up, with Utrecht's Celtic nemesis Ricky van Wolfswinkel reportedly on the brink of a move to Newcastle - though Liverpool are rumoured to be interested too.

0647: It's very early for some of you to be fuming, but as a Forest fan who is fully expecting to see his season die out during the remainder of today I feel your pain. Anyway, as I type these very words there is a man plugging away at our daily Gossip Column, so hopefully you will gain some cheer from that when it's done.

0630: Back to Tottenham, and Harry Redknapp's boys have been linked with moves for West Ham's Scott Parker and Everton's Steven Pienaar as well as Emmanuel Adebayor this morning. I wonder what today holds in store down at White Hart Lane. And will deadline day specialist Robbie Keane still be at the club come 1800 BST?

0625: Another deal that jumps out is the proposed move of Alexander Hleb to Birmingham from Barcelona for between £4m-5m. He's not exactly had a great time of it since leaving Arsenal, but the Belarussian would be a stellar signing for the Blues.

0622: Now then - it wouldn't be much of a transfer deadline day without Tottenham or Manchester City, would it? No surprise, then, that the major surprise on the back pages of today's newspapers is a story suggesting City's former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor might join Spurs on loan for the rest of the season. Early thoughts on that?

0618: Things I expect to happen today: Paul Konchesky to move to Liverpool, Robinho to join AC Milan, Sunderland to seal a deal for Asamoah Gyan, goalkeepers Shay Given and Mark Schwarzer to be continually linked with moves and Robbie Keane to be seen at about 14 different training complexes.
