Edoardo Molinari won the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles to boost his chance of being handed a wildcard for the European Ryder Cup team.
The Italian finished with three birdies on the final three holes to win the tournament on 10 under, one shot ahead of Australian Brett Rumford.
Molinari's brother Francesco finished tied in third place on seven under.
Meanwhile, Spain's Miguel Angel Jimenez and Swede Peter Hanson secured the last of the nine automatic Ryder Cup places.
Jimenez also finished seven under alongside Jamie Donaldson to successfully qualify for captain Colin Montgomerie's Ryder Cup team which will face the United States at Celtic Manor on 1-3 October.

Montgomerie is set to name his wildcards on Sunday after 1800 BST.
It could have been much better for Jimenez but he missed a short tap-in on the 17th and ended up with a double-bogey.
Hanson, winner of last week's Czech Open, needed a top-43 finish to guarantee a Ryder Cup debut at Celtic Manor and he secured his place with birdies at the 15th and 17th which helped him to a closing 73, two under par.
"It feels great - tonight I'm going to celebrate and tomorrow as well," said the 32-year-old Hanson.
"I just tried to take it one shot at a time.
"I was very tired and was trying not to think about making the team, but I felt a little bit of pressure and those birdies felt great."
