Andy Murray's hopes of landing Darren Cahill as his new coach have vanished after the Australian ruled himself out.
Cahill, former coach to Lleyton Hewitt and Andre Agassi, said he wants to concentrate on his work with Adidas and sports channel ESPN.
"Andy's one of the best players on the tour but he's looking for a full-time coach. I can't be that," he said.
Murray has been without a coach since parting company with Miles Maclagan last week.
Maclagan is thought to have left the Scot's employ after disagreements over the involvement of Alex Corretja as a part-time coaching consultant.
Former GB Davis Cup player Maclagan had guided the 23-year-old's career for two-and-a-half years and was his fourth coach since turning professional.
Murray has elected not to make Corretja full-time and has insisted there is no urgency in the search for Maclagan's replacement.
Todd Martin, whose role coaching Novak Djokovic ended earlier this year, has also been mentioned as a potential coach for the Dunblane-born player.
Other names linked by the press with the role include Sven Groeneveld, Larry Stefanki and Tony Roche.

Murray, who lost 5-7 7-6 6-3 to Sam Querrey in the final of the Farmers Classic on Sunday, next ventures onto court in a fortnight's time for the Cincinnati Masters.
Then on 30 August, the current world number four will continue his quest for a first grand slam title at the US Open.
Speaking after his meeting with Querrey, Murray said: "It was a good week. Disappointed to lose, but if you take the circumstances into consideration I have to be happy with getting to the final. I had a good week, I enjoyed it.
"Each match I felt better physically. I played reasonably well, better than the other matches."
