Rain stops play in Dambulla
Wet conditions in Dambulla had already delayed the game by 24 hours

Sri Lanka and New Zealand were both frustrated by heavy rain as their tri-series match was abandoned on Friday.

After play was called off without a ball being bowled in Dambulla on Thursday they did at least get under way, with Sri Lanka put into bat.

They scored 203-3 from 43.4 overs when the rain started falling again, with Mahela Jayawardene unbeaten on 59 and New Zealand's Scott Styris taking 2-36.

Both teams earn two points and Sri Lanka face India in Dambulla on Sunday.

India then face New Zealand on Wednesday, with the final taking place in the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Saturday 28 August.
